R2G - Nemo Wishes Card Kit

Aren't they cute.  I made this card for kids! Easy for them to make!
I started with a green card. I cut my image down with the TH Ornamental die.  I created the greeting with the Modern Label Punch and the Word Window punches from Stampin Up!.  The greeting is printed in black for all the colors of card. I coordinated the label punchie with the card color. The greeting is adhered to the label punchie.  The 3D foam tape is applied to the back of the label punchie then applied to the card front.
The kit includes 2 green cards, 1 yellow and 1 orange card. The greetings included are Happy Birthday and Thank You so the cards can be used to give to a friend or to express gratitude for friends being part of their party. They could be party invitations as well!

R2G - Christmas - Snowman Puzzle

Here's another card kit.  I thought these would be great for kids to make cards.  I up cycled some of the Christmas cards I've received.   I cut the card fronts with the Sizzix Puzzle Maker #2 die.  The kids can make the puzzle until they are ready to glue it down.  I have provided a piece of card stock to be a layer onto which the puzzle can be glued onto.  The easiest way to hold the puzzle together is to make it upside right onto the colored layer.  Place a paper over top and flip the puzzle.  Tape the pieces together then glue it to the card stock layer.  Glue this element onto the card front. The picture on the right shows the puzzle pieces before the puzzle was assembled.  I selected all snowman cards and included all the cute kiddy images. Check out my Christmas Card Kits page.

Card - Challenge - Transportation

I created this card for an on-line challenge for which the theme was Transportation.  I decided to use some images from a CD of Ephemera that came my way this week.  I've not explored it all yet but it looks like it will be great.  I printed the old plane and the vintage toy card which gave me my palette of red and grey.  I printed the word and smudged it with some chalk.  I placed a piece of grey paper which I torn the bottom edge and smudged it with the same red chalk. I cut a plane in silver paper with my Cricut and the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge.  I added a vintage post card.  I added a black Stampin Up! Decorative Label punchie which I trimmed to the edge of the card.  I stapled a couple of pieces of silver organza ribbon onto it.  The final touch was a red silk flower in the top right hand corner held in place with a tiny black brad.

R2G - Prima Flower Top Note

I started with a black card.  I cut a TH Ornamental Top Note from Designer Paper from Stampin Up! in black and white. I wrapped a length of silver organza ribbon across the bottom of the top note trimmed off the extra.  Tape the ends to the back of top note.  Tie the short end in a knot onto the length on the front of the top note. Trim the ends. Glued the top note to the card front. I added gold, silver, white and red silk flowers above the ribbon all held in place with a large silver brad. Be sure to use a push pin to create a hole for the brad first.  Check out my Occasions Card Kit page.

Card - Father's Day photo

I made this card for my Dad. I started with a photo I took last summer at the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough. This is a reconstruction of a workshop of a man who made canoes.  It reminded me very much of my Dad's workshop.  I mounted the photo onto a mustard piece of card stock.  I stamped the greeting with my small Close to my Heart acrylic alphabet in Chocolate Chip.  I added three mustard brads below to anchor the top element.  I will spend Sunday with my Dad!

Card - Birthday with hearts

I made this card for my sister.  I started with Basic Grey Oxford Lacrosse designer paper.  I cut the piece to 4x4".  I cut an ivory piece with a Label 18 Spellbinder Nestabilities die which I glued to the back of the DP and trimmed. I added a strip of dark brown card stock over the join between the 2 pieces.  I cut hearts with the Sizzix Tipsy hearts die using the dark brown and ivory card stock and layered them.  I stamped the greeting in chocolate chip below the strip and I added 3 brown brads to offset the greeting.

I made this card for a Wedding Card Challenge.  I started with the designer paper and found some taupe card stock to coordinate.  I cut the hearts with the Sizzix Tipsy Heart die in pearl white and taupe.  I glued a piece of DP to the top of the card then cut a scallop border a Die-namics Die.   I added a length of white satin ribbon across the join between the two.  I placed bling on each scallop and one on the heart.

R2G - Christmas Paper Strips

This is the same sketch to the one I made for my last Card Club but with Christmas colors.  I wanted to make some with red card stock with green strips and green card stock with red strips.  I dug through my scraps tray and just pulled red and green in put them in piles.  Then I selected a few that went together well and cut them them giving me some variety in length and width of strips.  Then I laid them down on the card to decide how many I needed to go across.  I cut a strip of white to go cross then I cut a v shape in the ends.  I thought it was important to make sure the points were on the strips.  I glued the strips down then the horizontal white strip.  I punched card stock to match the card with the Stampin Up! Decorative Label punch.  I color printed the greeting then cut it with my Creative Memories oval cutter and glued it to the label.  I mounted the label with 3D foam tape.  I think they turned out really well. R2G - Tropical Felt Flowers

I made up these Ready to Go kits with these colorful felt flowers.  I selected several tropical colored cards - magenta, turquoise, orange, purple, yellow, bright green.
On this card I chose a magenta card.  I embossed a white layer with the Sizzix Tropical Paisley folder and trimmed it to leave a small border.  I cut the leaves by hand and embossed them with the Cuttlebug Stylized Flower folder.  I used the flower to help me place the leaf and glued it in place.  I then placed the felt flower and the white daisy flower onto the card and used a push pin to create a hole in the centre for the pink brad.  I inserted the brad and spread the prongs on the inside of the card.  I stamped the greeting in Green Galore onto bright green cardstock.  It was then punched with the Stampin Up! Word Window punch.  It was placed on the card front with 3D foam.  Check out my Occasions Card Kit page.

Cool Tool - Push Pins

I find making a hole before adding a brad to my project helpful.  There are tools that to can be purchased at a store for this purpose but here's a home grown solution.  I use a push pin. You need a material to push the pin into so find a material that keeps it shape despite being continually poked. I use an old thick rubber like computer mouse pad.  The other material is white stiff foam packaging from a computer.  No matter the size of brad this gives just the start you need to get your brad through your card or scrapbook page.  I have added a ribbon to the push pin which helps me keep track of it.  Give it a try!!!

Christms Stack Class - Snowman & Gingerbread

I started with the designer paper with this set of cards. The paper had these 2 options brown and ivory.  I decided to use die cut snowman and gingerbread.
I cut the snowman in ivory card stock with the Sizzix die. Then I embossed it with the matching folder. I tied a piece of seam binding in taupe around his neck. Once the snowflake background paper was glued to the ivory card. The snowman was glued to the card front.  I placed a chocolate snowflake over the embossed snowflake on the snowman. It is held in place with an ivory brad.
I cut the gingerbread man was cut in dark brown card stock and his features were added with a white opaque marker. I placed real red piece of card stock behind the hearts on his belly.  I wrapped the Real Red Taffeta ribbon was wrapped around the background paper and taped to the back.  Then I knotted a short piece onto the length on the card. The gingerbread man was then glued to the card front.  Great set of cards!!

Christmas Card Stack - Stars

I added variety to this design by using burgundy and eggplant card stock with matching Designer Paper with diamond pattern which was spattered with the Radiant Rain gold.  I cut the 3 stars with a Sizzix die.  I cut 2 large stars one in gold paper and the second one in card stock dry brushed with Radiant Rain Gold.  A smaller in the plain card color.  I gold embossed the greeting then punched it with the Stampin Up! Decorative Label punch. The decorative paper was glued to the card front. I then placed a length of gold organza ribbon on the bottom of the card pulling it through a slot in the fold and taped the ends to the inside of the card.  The greeting was mounted with 3D foam tape over the ribbon.  The stars were layered one on top of the other and placed on the card front.  I created a hole in centre with a push pin through the card front.  The small star brad was placed through the hole and the prongs were spread on the inside of the card.

Christmas Card Stack - Poinsettia

I used red velvet and gold metallic poinsettias on these cards. I selected red and white card stock.  The background shape was cut from Designer Paper with a Cricut and the "Just Because Cards" cartridge. It fits well on a A2 card. The greeting was color printed red on white card & green on red card. I cut them  with my Creative Memories oval cutter.  Isn't it nice that it fits so well in the bottom oval on the background shape.  I layered a white and a smaller red silk flower over the larger poinsettia.  After using a push pin to create a hole a gold brad was place through the hole and holds all the flowers in place.  I used a variety of green designer papers. The ivory poinsettia paper was the best match for the gold poinsettia.

Christmas Card Stack - Doves

I had a Christmas Stack class today.  These dove cards were the first ones.  I have selected 2 different textured card stock - pale blue and plum.  I have mounted the doves in opposite directions.
The doves were cut with the Stampin Up! Elegant Bird die.  I trimmed the wings by hand then I embossed them.  The left card with the Cuttlebug Victorian and the right one with the Cuttlebug Tropical Paisley. I ran a length of ribbon across the bottom of the card and taped the ends to the inside of the card. I glued the dove then the wing matching the curve of the wing with the curve of the body. I used a push pin to create a hole for the black brad representing the eye. I color printed the greetings and punched them out with 1 1/4" punch and glued them to the larger circle punched at 1 3/8" and it is mounted with 3D foam tape.

R2G Kits - Polar Bear

Working on adding more polar bear cards to my inventory.  I chose a white card.  I added a blue designer paper with swirls.  I made just a smidge smaller than the card.  I cut the polar bear with the Cricut and the Joy of the Season cartridge in white with a red scarf.  I ripped the snowbank to the bottom of the card.  I glued the polar bear over the snowbank.  I added a silver sequin star up in the top right hand corner held in place with a tiny silver brad. Check out my Christmas Card Kits page.

Thanks - Chocolate

I made this card for my card exchange group.  I started with chocolate brown card which I spritzed with white pearly.  Does not show up well, maybe that is why it was on sale at a good price.  I cut a 12" scallop border with a Sizzix Decorative Strip Die - Scallops Giant sizzlet border die with Designer paper.  I cut two lengths so I could align the lines on the paper.  Once aligned I taped them together on the back.  This was then adhered to the card centering the scallop accent then I trimmed them off at the card edges. I added a white satin ribbon over the join between the two scallop elements and taped the ends inside the card.  I then knotted a shorter piece of ribbon onto the longer piece and trimmed the ends.  I cut the greeting with a Memory Box thin die in white.  I used snail adhesive to attach it to the card.  I find this adhesive easily rolls off the areas that are not behind the die.

Thanks - Scallop Border

I made this card for my card exchange group.  I started with a pink card that a spritzed with white pearly but it doesn't not show like I expected.  I cut the Scallop Border with a Sizzix sizzlet die.  Cut it in half and centered them on the top and bottom edges.  I cut the greeting with a Memory Box thin die.  I used snail adhesive to glue it to the centre space of the card.  I added a blue satin ribbon on the left.  I placed a slit in the card fold and pulled it through and taped the ends in place. I tied a knot onto the first piece with a short piece of the same ribbon.

Cmas Card Challenge - June - Trees Focus

The challenge this month is to have trees be the focus of the card.  I cut the trees with the Cricut - Winter Frolic cartridge.  I cut them in 3 sizes from silver metallic paper.  I printed the greeting on the white card itself in black then trimmed the black background layer by hand to create the snowbank.  I added stars in the sky with a silver gel pen.
I made 6 of these.
